Meet Jodi

I truly believe that life is an experience meant to be authentically lived. Experience has taught me that life is short and that if we desire, we each have the opportunity and responsibility to build an authentic, deep and rich life. I am grateful to serve others who choose to learn about themselves and make choices to create the lives they want to lead versus being passive participants to life.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. My first career was in Early Childhood Education Administration and  Training and Development. My life path continued to ebb and flow and took me to the place of opportunity where I returned to school to obtain my Master's Degree in Counseling from Lakeland College in 2006.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who has experience working in diverse areas in the behavioral health field.  I am an entrepreneur at heart and have developed many behavioral health programs. I have served patients on an Adult Mental Health Day Treatment Unit where I was able to develop and facilitate the Intensive Outpatient Program. In 2010 I began a behavioral health program which was embedded in a hospital based cancer center. I was privileged to companion cancer patients and their families through individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy. I also worked to develop psychotherapy groups for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients as well as patients who are living with a terminal illness and their caregivers.

My entrepreneurial spirit has been fulfilled by the work I do in my private practice which I opened in 2006. In 2015 I began my wellness practice, Life's Journey Wellness.   In 2017 I returned to school via the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy  for a one year in-depth program to further understand the mind-body workings and healings through the lens of Functional Medicine. I earned my certification as a Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach.  Throughout my career I have continued offering various tailored consulting and training to a wide variety of businesses. In 2023 I refined my business and formally developed Life’s Journey Consulting to continue my experience working to develop people and  businesses in the areas of consulting, coaching and training. I am a holistic counselor who serves a variety of clients by working from a mind body approach using physical experiences to explore emotions as well as how patterns of the mind affect the body.  I view the mind and body as one system with intertwining microsystems.

My additional training and focuses are:  personal growth, acute and chronic health issues, dealing with the stressors of cancer, mindfulness, life transitions, stress management, relationship issues, depression and anxiety.  Through Life’s Journey Consulting I offer Mindfulness workshops, classes, and private sessions. I also have training and experience in facilitating Mandala sessions for groups and for individuals.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family ~ my husband and two adult children, our granddog Mona, as well as those who are our extended family by blood and by choice. I am an avid reader and I enjoy everything outdoors.  Camping, hiking, and kayaking are some of my favorite ways to find peace and quiet for my soul.

Are we a good fit?

  • First and foremost, you can expect a place of non-judgment where you are free to express and explore any struggles you may be experiencing in your life. You can expect open and honest therapeutic feedback, which means it is feedback based on the professional training I have had and continue receiving as a therapist. It is not based on my personal thoughts or opinions as it is about you and using my skills to serve you as your therapist.

You can also expect that I will honor your journey and will companion you, but I will not solve your problems or give "advice". A therapist's role is to facilitate awareness, to help to gain insight into yourself and to support you as you make changes in your life that best work for you.

You can expect inclusivity. It is my belief as a human and as a professional therapist that all human beings have rights and should be treated with respect and dignity. I will continue to work to understand how your uniqueness affects and celebrates you.
